Valentine’s Day is the time of
year to end the “Separate Bedroom Syndrome”
February
12, 1999 - Valentine’s Day is a time of year for love, romance and
togetherness. Unfortunately, for
approximately 40 million Americans who snore, this day is short-lived. Many
families are forced to sleep in separate bedrooms because of the disturbing
sounds of snoring.
The
“Separate Bedroom Syndrome” of sleeping in separate bedrooms was reported in
a five year study of over 5000 patients. Approximately
70% of snoring patients spend more time apart than together according to the
researchers and surgeons at the Center For Corrective Surgery in Bala Cynwyd,
PA.
A
new procedure applying combined laser and radiofrequency has been used to
correct the source of this disturbing problem. This procedure which is done exclusively at The Center For
Corrective Surgery, is a new breakthrough not only to correct snoring and nasal
congestion, but to improve individuals breathing and sleeping habits.
According
to Dr. Mansoor Madani, Director of The Center For Corrective Surgery and
Associate Professor or Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Temple University,
“the new combined procedure is simple, effective and above all, is done in
less than fifteen minutes in our center.”
Dr. Madani has treated over 3,500 patients who suffer from snoring and
chronic nasal congestion using laser and radiofrequency procedures.
“Radiofrequency
acts like a smart microwave, targeting the specific areas in the nose and laser
targets the long and excess tissues of the throat,” explains Dr. Madani.
Patients who had the treatment done were able to return to work immediately
without any major discomfort or down time.
Additionally, they can breathe better, sleep better and be more energetic
and alert. Best of all, they can
enjoy their life even longer with their loved ones.
Snoring
is commonly a sign of a much more serious condition known as sleep apnea, when
individuals literally stop breathing during the night.
According to researchers, sleep apnea is the leading cause of heart
attacks and strokes during the night.
Our
patients are reporting stronger and closer relationships with their spouses
following their snoring treatment. Some
couples are even enjoying the newlywed feeling once again and taking second
honeymoons. Valentine’s Day is
the best time of year to end snoring and rebuild and rekindle marriages. Incidentally, this procedure is much less expensive than a divorce. # # # |
